Dr. Daneshvar is a licensed clinical Psychologist who specializes in the psychological treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults in the context of individual, family and group psychotherapy. With an empathic style and collaborative problem-solving approach, Dr. Daneshvar strives to create psychotherapy interventions and goals that meet the unique needs of each family.
Dr. Daneshvar treats a variety of difficulties including behavioral problems, executive functioning deficits, social skills deficits, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, autism spectrum disorders and issues related to childhood abuse and trauma. In addition, Dr. Daneshvar has had extensive training in the treatment of issues related to family functioning, attachment, parenting, divorce and adoption. She also works closely with the family in developing behavior management plans to decrease behavior problems and remediate symptoms related to ADHD in the school, home, and social arena.
Her passion for child and family therapy was cultivated while achieving her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Attachment and Family Systems Theory, from Pepperdine University in California. Dr. Daneshvar completed her predoctoral internship at the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic at Pacific Clinics in Calfornia with specific training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Based Therapy. Dr. Daneshvar went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Trauma Clinic in New York where she specialized in Child and Family Therapy.
Dr. Daneshvar continued her work with children and families as a licensed clinical psychologist and supervisor in New York. She has given several presentations on the topic of utilizing evidence-based practice with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Daneshvar is bilingual in English and Farsi and conversational in Spanish. Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Daneshvar enjoys hiking and staying active with her children.
